Well folks, the UpGraded Senior-in-Chief (Me) competed in the Gasparilla 5K Distance Classic yesterday in downtown Tampa, Florida.
It’s a weekend long running event that features several different runs. I chose the 5K, which is 3.1 miles long.
I must admit that I was feeling pretty impressed with myself – a 69 year old guy running 3.1 miles.
Then heard about Betty Ashley. I guess to Betty I must seem like a young whipper-snapper because, you see, Betty is 95 and she also competed in the Gasparilla.
However, unlike the UpGraded Senior who was competing for the first time, Betty has won her age group at Gasparilla for the last 6 years in a row.
Anyway, if I had a hat it would be off for Betty. She is not just an UpGraded Senior. She’s an UpGraded Senior Superstar!
